The best apps for detecting hidden cameras in 2026 use a combination of flash/IR lens-reflection scanning and Wi-Fi/Bluetooth network scanning. Leading options include YourSweep, Fing, AirGuard, Tracker Detect, NoSpy, and DETEKCAM — each with different strengths, and only some covering trackers and key card tampering in addition to cameras.
Not all "hidden camera detector" apps do the same thing. Before comparing names, it helps to know what to look for:
| App | Cameras | Trackers | Key Card Tampering | Platforms |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| YourSweep | ✅ Flash/IR + network scan | ✅ Compass-guided Bluetooth | ✅ NFC tamper detection | iOS, Android |
| Fing | Network scan | ❌ | ❌ | iOS, Android |
| AirGuard | ❌ | ✅ Android-focused | ❌ | Android |
| Tracker Detect | ❌ | ✅ Apple-ecosystem only | ❌ | iOS |
| NoSpy | ✅ Basic scan | ❌ | ❌ | iOS, Android |
| DETEKCAM | ✅ Basic scan | ❌ | ❌ | iOS, Android |
Camera and tracker detection get most of the attention, but NFC key card tampering — a cloned or unauthorized key card working against your room's lock, or a hidden device attached to the lock reader — is a newer and far less understood risk. None of the other apps in this comparison currently check for it at all.
YourSweep is a travel privacy app that detects hidden cameras, Bluetooth trackers, rogue Wi-Fi networks, and tampered NFC key cards. It's rated 5.0 on the App Store and 4.3 on Google Play, holds a Top 10 Travel App badge, and is used in 177 countries. It's live on iOS and Android, bootstrapped and built by travelers rather than a corporate team.
