No consumer scan can guarantee that a space is free of surveillance devices. YourSweep supports a room check; combine app results with visual inspection and appropriate help when something seems wrong.
Bluetooth trackers can be useful for finding your own keys or luggage. But if an unfamiliar tracker appears to be moving with you, it is reasonable to check what is happening. Families can make tracker awareness part of a travel routine without assuming every unknown signal is a threat.
Keep your phone’s operating system current and make sure its unwanted-tracking notifications are enabled. Apple explains how compatible iPhones can notify users when a supported tracker may be traveling with them. Android’s Unknown Tracker Alerts can notify users and provide steps to locate and respond to a compatible tracker; Android also offers a manual scan on supported devices. [4, 5]
If you receive an alert, follow the instructions on your phone. A borrowed bag, a companion’s tracker, or an item you share can sometimes explain an alert. If you cannot identify the device and feel unsafe, go to a safe public place and contact a trusted person or local law enforcement. Avoid confronting someone you suspect of tracking you.
When you arrive at a hotel or rental, take a moment to check the bags, stroller, car, or other belongings you brought. If your phone reports a tracker, use the phone’s built-in steps to locate it. Do not assume that switching off Bluetooth, location services, or airplane mode disables the tracker itself; Android specifically warns that these phone settings do not stop a tracker from sharing its location. [5]
YourSweep’s Bluetooth feature reviews nearby Bluetooth signals and surfaces known tracker signals that may deserve attention. You can use it for context in an unfamiliar room, car, or around a bag. What a scan sees can depend on Bluetooth range, device behavior, permissions, and operating-system limits, so a clean scan does not rule out every tracker. [6]
Use the phone’s native unknown-tracker alerts as your first line of awareness. If you choose, add a YourSweep scan when you enter a new room or move to a different vehicle. Review unfamiliar devices rather than treating every nearby signal as suspicious. YourSweep is an additional check, not a substitute for operating-system alerts or emergency help.
